After all the months of work putting it together, the Magical Lunation Rite of Transformation is complete, tested (mostly), and ready to make its public debut! And I finally found a name for it!
First, I worked the rite — all 29 days of it — with a couple of brave volunteers. And I felt transformed!
Then I offered it to my newsletter readers and we’re all working it together again. This time is even better!
Now I’m opening it to everyone!
The Magic Lunation Rite is brilliant! This guide provides a smooth and clever way to integrate historically authentic astrological timing into your magical practice. You can feel the cosmic gears aligning as the Orphic Hymns lock into place with the Lunar Days–expect some synchronicities! This is a foundational rite–great for beginners but also flexible enough to slip into the established practice of adepts. –And because Ivy created it, you know it’s well-researched and impeccably organized!

So what is this rite all about?
First of all, it’s about aligning you in space and time, putting you in a state of magical flow with the powers that govern the cycles of the moon, the days of the week, and the Gods and Goddess of the ancient world.
Second, it’s about transformation: reinventing yourself as a better magician and a better person, through a work of commitment and dedication.
Finally it’s about doing magic — a concentrated, epic work of magic — to help you eliminate blocks, attract luck and prosperity, and expand your sense of love and your place in the wider enchanted world.
How does it work?
Every morning, for 29 days, starting on the day of the new moon. The core rite calls on the Agathos Daimon — the Good Spirit. Originally the lucky spirit of the Greek household, this daimon was elevated in Ptolemaic and Roman Egypt and associated with the highest divinities (Aion, Helios, Zeus, Shai, Pre): a syncretic Serpent Deity that spans the fertile cultural and religious mix that brought us the powerful magic of the Papyri Graecae Magicae. For each day of the lunar month, there’s a corresponding Orphic Hymn and petition for you to expand, adjust, sigilize, and make your own.
The rite builds on itself and rewards the dedication you bring to it, while taking magical advantage of each and every day in the lunar month to improve yourself and your life.
And what better time to try it than during the first lunation of 2019?
The new moon is on January 5th* — wouldn’t it be an amazing experience to kick the new year off right with this major magical working? It would be the best New Year Resolution ever — one that I promise you is not only doable, but that can help make you a better magician while you reinvent and transform yourself!
For $29 dollars (one dollar for each lunar day) you get the complete rite. A 40-page booklet with:
- An introduction and background to the rite (including references)

- Information on where to find the Orphic hymns (for free online in printable form or in one of a couple of excellent translations you can purchase)

The daily ritual itself is reasonably compact and shouldn’t take more than 15 minutes. You will need to purchase some inexpensive tea lights and Frankincense sticks

* Note, the New Moon is 5:28 PM in the Pacific Time Zone. Since the lunar days start at dawn, this means that you start the rite the morning of January 5th — however, if you are in Asia or Australia, you should check your specific timezone and sunrise time as it might the following day where you are.
