This week is planning week for me. After a chaotic month (we all have them!) my normal planning and tracking slid a bit. This week I am catching back up. Here’s what on my personal planning / organizing list ahead of Friday (the special day for planning):
- Sync the calendars — I track at home appointments and events on my Google calendar and work appointments and events on my Outlook calendar. My phone will show me both in one place. And I have an annual calendar in my office and one my in bullet ephemeris for multi-day events through the rest of the year. This is critical as I have a combination of work and personal travel set months in advance and if I’m not careful I’ll double-book myself. But from time to time, I have to make sure I sync things.
- Reset the ephemeris — In line with the last item, I need to reset my bullet ephemeris for May. April was mostly triage mode, so not too much tracking or advanced planning for magic (lots of magic, but all on the fly). But for May, I’m going to be getting back to my normal MO and in that spirit I’m going to be doing an experiment with the Lunation Rite starting at the end of the week.
- Visit the head doctor — no, not that kind of head doctor, I just saw a new neurologist about my migraines. We are embarking on a treatment plan that will start with a trial of a particular combination of supplements. If that doesn’t mitigate the number of headaches, then we have several exciting options to try, including some that are completely non-pharmaceutical (and really interesting). The good news is that I’ve tried enough things through my life and I have enough headaches, that he can skip the many things I’ve already tried to whatever treatments we want.
- The budget — I’ve been doing something new with our budget and it seems to be working to help keep us on track. Every time I talk about the budget, I have people asking to see my spreadsheet. This is kind of an unworkable request since a) I prefer to be very hands on with my budget, to a degree that most people aren’t going to embrace and b) there’s so much in a budget that’s individual to the particular household. That said, I’m going to try to create a blank, generic version to share (maybe with a video talk through) for those interested / crazy enough to try my Excel version.
