Last night was the longest night of the year here in the Northern hemisphere. The weather has been pretty reasonable, but today started very rainy and overcast, so it almost felt like the Sun didn’t reappear. When we finally had some patches of blue sky mid-day, I have to say it was almost a bit of a relief. It’s not surprising to me that so much of the “something ate the sun, let’s fucking hope it comes back again” mythos comes from places where the winters are overcast, rather than cold but clear.

This is probably the least prepared for Yule celebrations I’ve been in many a year. Not surprising with the retrograde ongoing, but everything just keeps getting mixed up and moved around and shifted and it’s chaotic and… well, frankly, I find that sort of thing challenging. But hey, what can you do but try to roll with it?

The good news is that after an intense amount of work, the planner has been reset for 2024 and the January release for Inner Circle members has dropped. There’s some really cool new stuff this year, so I hope you will indulge me while I talk about it a bit.

The planners are handcrafted, not AI or algorithmic or automated. Yes, there is a spreadsheet, chock full of ephemeris data, that I use to drive the back end… but the magic I suggest for each and every day comes from my own experience and intuition. That’s why I don’t do a whole year of the planner in advance. Because during the year, I adjust my thinking and take in more information and align my suggestions to what’s going on in the world, energetically speaking.

This year the printable planners have been redesigned, and one of the changes is more focus on helping users plan the year. For example, the January planner has a page for annual planning (high level stuff naturally), a page for Q1 goal setting (and a free course to go along with it), a page for a monthly cycle planning (the detailed and agile stuff), and both an astro calendar and a full list of magical suggestions for each day of the month.

I’m pleased to be continuing my collaborations this year: With Nate Binford over at Postmugglism for his Lunar Mansion elections and with Kaitlin Coppock of Sphere + Sundry for aligning the daily suggestions with talismanic materia.

I’ve also created a new quarterly digital calendar that shows you the timings for alignments, ingresses, retrogrades, decans, and moons… and which magically converts to your time zone (it’s an .ics file, so you just import it into your calendar app of choice — Google, Outlook, whatever)!

If you are interested in trying out the planner, well, you can’t pick a better time. Mercury is going direct right at the start of the year and why not use that energy to set yourself up for manifesting your goals in 2024. The first month is always free, so you can sample all the January stuff, as well as the free courses, to see if you like it.

In 2024 I will also be continuing my weekly posts at substack as well as giving the blog some well-deserved attention. I don’t do a lot of marketing on this list, but I couldn’t help but share my enthusiasm, both for the new planners, but also for having completed the work. This coming week, I’ll be focusing on family celebrations. I hope you and your households have a lovely holiday season and a blessed New Year.
